JOB DESCRIPTION

REGIONAL FORUM CHAIR

Job Title: Regional Forum Chair
Elected by: Regional Forum

Main Purpose

To have overall responsibility for the management of the Regional Forum's affairs. To ensure that the Regional Forum is run effectively and in accordance with its Constitution, and that all members are given an equal chance to participate in the forum.

Key Tasks

approve or amend the agenda for circulation prior to meetings
run Regional Forum meetings, maintaining good order and ensuring that they are conducted in a business-like manner
ensure that everyone at the meeting gets an equal opportunity to contribute, and that no individual or group takes over
decide on points of order and the interpretation of the Constitution
know the Regional Forum's Constitution and, therefore, be able to rule on any points that require clarification
ensure that people who agree to do something do it by the required time
work with the Executive Committee Member for the Region to ensure that all students are effectively represented
be the public face of the regional Forum
chair RF Management Sub-committee

able to manage people and meetings

knowledge of OUSA structure and OUSA policy
understanding of constitutions and their application
good team worker
good organizational skills

Time Commitment

attendance at Regional Forum meetings
attendance at Management Sub-Committee and Marketing and Information Sub-Committee meetings
communicating with members to ensure that activities are carried out
carrying out other duties between meetings
